Life Of Agony, Dog Eat Dog and Pure Bliss at The Lost Horizon 01/30/21

Photos and Review by Tanner Rawleigh

Life of Agony performed at Syracuse’s Lost Horizon this past Sunday. They are currently midway through their Northeast tour and brought along with them Dog Eat Dog and local support Pure Bliss.

Starting off the night was Syracuse’s own Pure Bliss. The crowd gave them a warm welcome, forming a mosh pit and thrashing along. Pure Bliss has a new EP out called The Pain Never Leaves, and can be found on all streaming platforms. I highly recommend checking them out.

Next up was Dog Eat Dog. It was the first time the band had played Syracuse in over twenty years. Their set consisted of a unique mix of rap and some hardcore punk. Dog Eat Dog performed a mix of their classics and even treated the crowd to one of their new songs. The singer, John Conner, was engaging and paused between songs to give the crowd pep talks about life.

The fans were ready for the final band of the night. As Life of Agony’s intro played over the sound system, the pit filled in. The band ripped right into “River Runs Red” getting the crowd amped up. They played a lot of their older tunes but also a nice mix of some of the tracks from their 2019 release The Sound of Scars. Consider yourself lucky if you caught this show, the band had to cancel the rest of this tour due to members testing positive for Covid. Hopefully, they will all feel better soon and reschedule touring as they are a band you must see!
