Farm Aid 2026 at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, VA, was an extraordinary celebration of music, community, and agricultural activism. While legendary performances by Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp kept the crowd roaring, the true heart of the festival shone through in its immersive cultural experiences: the HOMEGROWN Village and the spectacular local food lineup.
Here is a review of what made the non-musical highlights of Farm Aid 2026 so special.
The HOMEGROWN Village: Hands-On Activism
The HOMEGROWN Village served as the interactive heartbeat of the festival ground, beautifully bridging the gap between consumers and the farmers who feed them.
- Interactive Exhibits: Festivalgoers of all ages engaged with hands-on exhibits focusing on the critical elements of agriculture—soil health, water preservation, renewable energy, and sustainable food systems.
- The Skills Tent & Seed Swap: A major highlight was the Skills Tent, where attendees learned practical agrarian trades. The Seed Swap was buzzing with energy, allowing community members to exchange native seeds and agricultural wisdom.
- Community Art: A massive collaborative mural-painting session gave fans a creative voice, letting them paint their appreciation for family farms.
- Youthmarket & Giving Back: The village also hosted a Youthmarket operated by young local farmers, alongside a massive food drive benefiting the local food bank, emphasizing the festival’s mission of community support.

HOMEGROWN Concessions: A Culinary Triumph
Farm Aid’s strict commitment to ecologically sourced, family-farmed food transformed standard festival dining into a premium culinary experience.
- Local and Sustainable Vendors: Every vendor under the HOMEGROWN Concessions banner served food that met rigorous criteria: ingredients were sustainably raised by family farmers who received a fair price for their labor. From classic festival comfort foods to regional Virginia delicacies, the quality of the ingredients was undeniably superior to typical venue fare.
- Signature Brews: Long lines formed for the festival’s signature drink, the Well Sown Estate Lager, an expertly crafted beer brewed exclusively with locally and responsibly sourced grains.
- Green Team Sustainability: The food experience was made even better by the festival’s zero-waste initiative. The “Green Team” worked tirelessly across the venue, helping fans sort their food wrappers, scraps, and cups into composting and recycling bins, ensuring that the festival’s footprint remained as clean as its mission.
