Prepare The Ground, presented by Dice, is a Heavy Music European-style Festival that takes place in multiple venues in Toronto, Canada. First of its kind in the city, starting in 2024, the festival was founded by two lifelong friends, Toronto-based concert promoter Denholm Whale and KW Campol of music management company Mythos & the Perpetual Flame Ministries record label & art house.
The organizers have gathered quite an exquisite selection of artists for this year, as well as some last-minute additions. It is the second instalment of the festival since its inception in 2024.
People from all over the world (Basically) came for the weekend to enjoy the vast variety of music and art that took place around the city in four major venues, all within a reasonably short distance, where the attendees were able to pick and choose the band they wanted to see of their choice.
A few of the bands I did not miss the opportunity to see live was YOB with a double heather, performing their Atma album in its entirely on the second night, Baroness and a surprise “Cave In” with an acoustic performance with Stephen Brodsky and Adam McGrath.
