Portuguese metal band, Gaerea, made a stop on their North American tour at the Opera House in Toronto in support of their latest album release, Coma.
I was lucky to be invited to cover Gaera for the third time and they always put on an impressive performance. The quintet unleashed their aggressive Black Metal sound with full force and kept those in attendance headbanging and moving throughout their set. Their material has progressed over the years, and they continue to advance in the metal scene.
Gaerea started their set list with “The Poet’s Ballet” followed by “Hope Shatters” and “Unknown” which are all solid songs from their newest album Coma. They also played their instant hit, “World Ablaze” and ended their kick-ass set with “Laude” off their 2022 album Mirage. Despite a few technical issues during their set, they did not falter and delivered a high-quality show. The entire band showed professionalism and did not let down their fans.
The band offers a wicked VIP experience for those hardcore fans and let me tell you that I had the best time ever! They are all super friendly and down-to-earth. Me and a few other crazy fans had a great time hanging with them at a restaurant. We had lots of laughs, and they were open to chatting about anything. The band seems like they are more like a family and get along well.
In conclusion, Gaerea are a bunch of hard-working folks that bring their all to the stage. I recommend checking them out. Show them some love and support because they deserve it. There are still plenty of opportunities to see them on this tour.
