The British rockers “The Cult” paid a visit with an amazing performance with a sold out show at The History Concert Theater in Toronto.
The opening act Electro-rock “Culture Wars” from Austin Texas showed the audience a very fresh and radiant performance delivering a mix of previous released EP’s songs and performing a brand new song “Miley” from their upcoming self title album that will be released very soon mid September of 2024. Although I was not very familiar with them and sounds they really put out an amazing show.
Culture Wars are Alex Dugan (singer), David Grayson (drums), Dillon Randolph (bass), Caleb Contreras (guitar), and Josh Stirm (guitar).

It was 9.15 on the dot when the PA system stopped their ambient music and the lights went off as all the rest of the photographers including myself were ready set on the back nearby the soundboard area (kind of far and cumbersome for us) giving the distance and trying to avoid the taller audience, but that is not and excuse to snag a good picture. The the band emerged from backstage lead by John Tempesta (Drums), Charlie Jones (Bass) Billy Duffy (Guitars) and Ian Astbury without wasting any time the band started playing their set rocking the classics and piled through almost three hours straight covery most of their discography with song such as “In the Clouds”, “Rise”, “Wild Flower”, “The Witch” and many others.

Ian Astbury still has that stage presence that charmed the audience using maracas and tambourine to a sold out show jammed packed by hardcore fans that were chanting and dancing their songs non stop throughout the night. Meanwhile Duffy and his iconic and flawless riffs continue to mesmerize us, and not to forget mentioning about John Tempesta behind the drum kit that sounded very clean and strong showing off his experience on stage, as well as Charlie Jones with his Bass, ending their performance with their super classic song “She Sells Sanctuary”

The Cult is currently having a very heavy schedule touring ten Canadian cities and continuing in US and Europe and ending in Australia and New Zealand celebrating 40 years of Rock and Roll so don’t miss out!
