Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds made a stop on their 2019 summer tour to play a show at the Constellation Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua, NY on June 18. Dave and Tim took the stage at 7:30pm sharp and wasted no time diving into “Save Me” to kick off a nearly three-hour, 26 song set.
The duo played a perfect mix of old and new Dave Matthew’s Band favorites. They threw in some new songs and a few we haven’t heard in a while. Fans got up and danced from the moment the first song started, singing along when the duo performed “Grey Street” and fan favorite “Crush.” The audience continued singing and dancing through “Stay or Leave,” “The Best of What’s Around” and “When The World Ends.”
Dave and Tim delighted fans with some intricate breakdowns and fancy fret work. Tim Reynolds during his two solos brings the music to a whole new level with his godlike guitar work, not to mention how effortless he makes it look. The duo looked like they were having fun up there as they hammered through rocking versions of “Cornbread,” and ended the set with a high energy version of “Two Step.”
Matthews and Reynolds delighted fans with an encore which included a very intense and moving version of the Willie Nelson song, “Funny How Time Slips Away.” The house lights stayed dim and the fans went nuts, chanting, cheering and pounding on the seats. hour set and rounded out the evening with classic tune “Ants Marching.” It was the perfect end to an epic show.
