Orbit Culture Death Above Life – North American Tour with special guests Atlas and Ov Sulfur.

Swedish metal titans Orbit Culture proved exactly why they are one of the genre’s fastest-rising powerhouses. Fresh off the release of their acclaimed 2025 album Death Above Life (out October 3, 2025, via Century Media), the band brought their North American headlining tour to Toronto, delivering a set that was as cinematic as it was crushing.

From the moment doors opened, The Opera House was jam-packed. Unlike their previous support slot at the Danforth Music Hall in 2022, this crowd was almost entirely devoted “Orbit Culture” faithful. The air was thick with anticipation—and dry ice—as fans filled the floor, many sporting fresh merch from the massive line that snaked around the venue.

When the lights dimmed, the industrial hum of the intro gave way to the bone-rattling riffs of “Death Above Life.” Niklas Karlsson’s vocal presence is a force of nature; he seamlessly pivots from Hetfield-esque melodic grit to gut-wrenching gutturals without missing a beat.

The band’s stage production has leveled up dramatically. Their custom theatrical setup, complete with abundant strobe lights, synchronized perfectly with Christopher Wallerstedt’s thunderous percussion, transforming the intimate venue into a cavernous, strobing arena. It was genuinely impressive—and admittedly a bit challenging to capture photos from the pit! But the crowd (and photographers) were all up for the challenge.

Orbit Culture drew heavily from Death Above Life, mixing in fan favorites from Descent, Nija, and Rasen to keep the entire audience engaged and headbanging throughout.

In a remarkably short time, Orbit Culture has grown exponentially since their inception, building a solid, dedicated fanbase and establishing themselves as successful tour headliners.

The band’s sound featured blistering double-bass drumming and crushing breakdowns, serving as the perfect high-octane setup for the headliners. Tracks like “Endless//Godless” and “Death Ov Circumstance” highlighted their technical precision and sheer brutality, proving Ov Sulfur is a major force in the deathcore scene. Their set was short but incredibly impactful, leaving the audience breathless and fully primed for Orbit Culture.
