Show Review: As We Die World Abomination Tour 2018 Buffalo Iron Works

The As We Die World Abomination Tour 2018 featuring Doyle made a stop at the Buffalo Iron Works in Buffalo, NY on Friday February 23. Fans of all ages from across New York state and Canada showed up in their Doyle and Misfits apparel and eagerly waited for the show to begin.

Doyle’s current band roster consists of Alex Story (vocals), Wade Murff (drums) and Brandon Strate (bass). The band was greeted by a nearly sold out crowd at the Buffalo Iron Works as they stormed out onto the stage.  Doyle and bandmates immediately ripped into the title track off their current album “Abominator” and before you could blink the band wasted no time tearing into “Valley of the Shadows” and “Witchcraft.”

Singer, Alex Story, does a great job engaging and connecting with the masses. Story made the fans smile as he reminded them, “this is a love song, you can dance to it if you like. If someone doesn’t want to dance with you, then I will dance with you baby.” Drummer, Wade Murff, who is the newest member of the band, did an incredible job on the kit especially during the hard-hitting fan favorite “Valley of the Shadows.”

The best thing about Doyle’s live show is that level of intensity that he puts into it every second he is on stage. He makes it look easy even though you can tell he is giving it his all. I have been a fan of Doyle’s work, even the short-lived Gorgeous Frankenstein. It has been exciting to watch him grow musically and develop his own horror-metal niche.

After a fierce and grueling performance, the sweat-drenched band ended the night with their most well-known hit, “Hope Hell is Warm.” I look forward to seeing Doyle and his band the next time he is in the area. Each time I see them live, they get better and better.
